There should be no negative side effects of a smile makeover, but some patients may experience a temporary increase in sensitivity following teeth whitening or composite bonding procedures. This is not a permanent change and it should subside within a few days.

Some of the treatments will have permanent results if you commit to following the aftercare advice. An example of this would be orthodontics, which would only be considered permanent if you continue to wear a nighttime retainer. However, treatments like teeth whitening are not permanent, as staining can return.
